healthy beauty + natural wellness delivered

A Look Inside Daily Concepts with founder Emilio Smeke

We recently featured the Dual Scrubber from Daily Concepts in the October Goodbeing Box….and it’s WONDERFUL! There is something ultra luxurious about using a scrubber in the shower. It could be the extra full body exfoliation or the bubbly, soapy, foamy goodness that comes from scrubbing one between your hands. Either way, we’re excited about it!
For those that don’t know, Daily Concepts focuses on elevating the bathing experience by providing natural, practical, and multifunctional products without skimping on luxury.

From their site, “They think about our present, our purpose, and our future. They care about our neighbors, our world, and the mark we leave behind. They believe good thoughts attract good things and that getting clean, inside and out, is definitely a good thing. They work to inspire and deliver everyday products that enhance the human experience.” We couldn’t agree more! Read on to learn more about their founder Emilio Smeke and his personal take on healthy skincare.

We all know healthy beauty starts with what we put in our bodies.  What 3 tips can you share about beauty from the inside out? (think superfoods, supplements, teas, elixirs and the like)
I believe that everything you need is in nature – so no need for supplements if you have a balanced diet. Try to stay away from any drugs, Alcohol included, and caffeine included since your body was not designed even to take prescription drugs, therefore do not abuse on any of the ones said here.

Serious stuff. Which ingredients do you avoid at all costs?
Sulfates, Parabens, and of course MICROBEADS!

What do you do to stay active and why?
Spinning and I work standing. (Yes, I know standing desks are a trend.) I have been doing it for quite a while and it definitely makes me think better. As Niche said, “humans think with their butt, because they are always sitting while working.”

EOS Lip balm, Herbivore’s Face Serum, Marvin’s Toothpaste.

Do you have a hero?  If so, who and why?
I have many hero’s, however, in the top of my list is my Grandmother. She has been an example in my life. She has suffered a lot of changes and misfortunes. The way she has overcome the lost of pretty much all of her family and is still an active woman at 89 has been a great example of how one should live life at its fullest. She still works out and uses an i-phone, Facebook and e-mail at 89 years old!

What’s the hardest or most important life lesson you’ve learned?
Success doesn’t come with a $ sign, it comes once you feel satisfied with what you do and how you participate in other peoples’ lives by enriching them with something from yourself.

Any beauty/wellness myth’s you’d like to bust?
The use of 100% natural products. I believe that many companies claim they are 100% natural and that is not true. Only the fact that all comes from nature makes a product natural. Therefore, we just have to create a conscience on what products have inside and what the companies do in case some of their materials are not biodegradable and recyclable. What I mean is that we all are responsible on what we use and how this will leave a mark behind. So, with that in mind, lets all do our parts as consumers, and in my case a manufacturer, to try to leave the least amount of mark behind for future generations and try to become better human beings in balance with nature.
