What’s your favorite part about running Yarok?
My favorite part of running Yarok has been and is the magic behind the responsibility of educating the consumer, my crew and business owners of the importance of using ingredients that are non-toxic. People do not realize how simple it can be to choose fresh ingredients from nature that can make you look beautiful and at the same time elevate your mood. Besides the fact I am a control freak and I am seeing my vision coming alive.
Of the products you make, which is your favorite?
It’s like asking a parent who is their favorite child, all of them are special in their own way. For me personally, Feed Your Do has a perfect texture that once you massage into the palm of your hands has the perfect amount of hydration and scent that is effective once one applies to dry or wet hair. The best thing is that your hands don’t stay sticky or oily. It awakens ones senses.
We all know healthy beauty starts with what we put in our bodies. What 3 tips can you share about beauty from the inside out? (think superfoods, supplements, teas, elixirs and the like)
1. I like to use liquid extracts instead of pill form for vitamins, in the morning I mix a few drops of ginger extract, olive leaf extract and saw palmetto extract into one squeezed lemon water.
2. Tea is always a great way to hydrate. I like to use fresh mint leafs, fresh ginger, honey and lemon and boil all of them together. The aroma in the room becomes fantastic and I drink it hot or completely cool.
3. A favorite dessert can really make you beautiful. In my favorite dessert I use chia seeds, I get very creative with it, once I blended it with almond milk. I use maple syrup in it and lots of spices like cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. I add some fruits, like pomegranate to the bottom and place in nice cups. This dessert lasts for 5 days in the fridge and its super healthy.
What do you do to stay active and why?
I try to go dancing once a week at least, I jump rope twice a week and I jog twice to three times per week. Being active helps me not to think too much, it keeps me on the thinner side and movement and music always make you feel happy.
Do you have a hero? If so, who and why?
Golda Meir, she was power woman, becoming the world’s third female prime minister, she was ahead of her time, a smoker and constantly kept things real and simple. She always had a purpose to help others and that is inspiring.
